On behalf of Appalachian State University and the Conference Planning Committee, Program Committee, and Board Members, welcome to the 2008 UNC Human Resources Systems Conference. Below is the schedule of activities for each day.

Conference Registration Desk
The Conference Registration will be in the Alumni Hall of the Broyhill Inn and Appalachian Conference Center beginning on Sunday, September 14. If you need any assistance while attending the Conference, please contact the Conference Registration Desk.
Exhibitors / Vendors
Exhibitors will be located in the Alumni Hall of the Broyhill Inn and Appalachian Conference Center on Monday and Tuesday. Vendors provide significant support to the Conference through on-site participation and contributions that help defray conference costs. Please come and visit their booths.
Conference Evaluation Forms and "AppPack" thank you travel bags
Please help us by providing feedback in order to improve future Conferences. Your evaluation of the Conference is important and appreciated. Please turn in your Conference Evaluation forms to the Conference Registration Desk before 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. You will receive an "AppPack" thank you travel bag when you turn in your evaluation.
Early Morning Fitness Walks
Each morning at 5:30 a.m. we will have an early morning fitness walk. Each participant will make a donation in order to participate in this event. The donations will be presented to the Director of the Local Hunger and Health Coalition at Breakfast on Tuesday, September 16. The Hunger and Health Coalition mission is to relieve poverty and hunger in a compassionate manner for families and individuals who are experiencing economic hardship and food shortages. The assistance may include food, medicine, firewood, and snacks for young community scholars. The Coalition meets emergency needs while also acting as a community resource assisting those in need to find a more permanent solution. In April alone the coalition was able to assist by feeding 1360 individuals, 264 healthy start bags for local children, and filling 579 prescriptions that valued $102,070.53. During the economic struggles many are facing today this is a great opportunity to reach out and help those less fortunate.

Conference registration will open at the Broyhill Inn and Appalachian Conference Center Alumni Hall. Conference packets will be available upon registering.
3:00 – 4:30 PM Conference Board Meeting -Broyhill Inn Conference Center Jefferson Room
6:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday Night Social - Broyhill Inn Conference Center
The social will be held in the Broyhill Inn and Appalachian Conference Center Powers Grand Hall. Hors D'oeuvres will be served. A cash bar will be available. Come, socialize and enjoy a T-shirt Swap with other UNC participants.
8:00 - Midnight - Hospitality Suite
The Hospitality Suite will be held in the Alumni Suite of the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center.

5:30 a.m. Early Morning Fitness Walk

7:00 - 8:15 a.m. Breakfast
Continental Breakfast will be served in the Powers Grand Hall at the Broyhill Inn and Appalachian Conference Center.
8:30 – 9:30 a.m. General Session Opening
The General Session Opening will be held in the Powers Grand Hall at the Broyhill Inn and Appalachian Conference Center. We will have featured guest speakers at the General Session.
9:45 – 12:00 p.m. Break-Out Sessions
12:15 PM – 2:15 p.m. Business Lunch
Lunch will be served in the Powers Grand Hall at the Broyhill Inn and Appalachian Conference Center. Entertainment by local comedian Wayne Clawson, general conference business, and a keynote speaker from ASU.
2:30 – 4:45 p.m. Break-Out Sessions
6:00 – 9:00 PM Dinner and Dancing
Dining in the Powers Grand Hall will be casual BBQ style. A cash bar will be available. Please plan to attend for a wonderful BBQ meal, door prizes, with DJ and dancing.
9:00 - Midnight-Hospitality Suite
The Hospitality Suite will be held in the Alumni Suite of the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center.
