Communities in Schools (CIS):

Helps kids stay in school and prepare for life.

Is the connector, bringing a team of caring adults into the school building to help kids prepare for life.

Is the solution to student underachievement and our school dropout problem requires a committment from all community members, parents, social service providers, businesses, civic organizations, local government and educators.

Brings resources, services, business partners, parents, and volunteers in our public schools and after-school sites across North Carolina.
County programs offer a variety of volunteer opportunities such as:
- Traditional Mentoring/Tutoring
- Job Shadowing
- Career Fair Speakers
- Weekend Backpack Programs.
You can choose the amount of time you want to give to the program.
